Gabriel Thierot was thoroughly enjoying his day in Diagon Alley. He’d been able to escaped the self-righteously hallowed halls of his family’s townhouse in the historic Mayfair district. The same house that had been the Thierot family seat since the French Revolution when they’d all left the country in favor of the safer shores of England. Of course, things had gotten pretty itchy for them a couple of decades later but that was another story completely. Now as he strolled leisurely through the streets of the Alley, his hands tucked loosely into the pockets of his Diesel jeans, he was just content that he could breathe without his mother harping on him about something or other. His mother and his father and his grandparents. Even his brother Dominic had gotten in on it. What was the reasoning behind this familial barrage? It was Gabe’s last year to attend Hogwarts school and the time was fast approaching where he would have to make a decision concerning his future. Either take a share in the family-owned jewelry and gemstone trading company, choose a path that would lead to a high position in the ministry, or be disowned. Plain and simple. Black and white. His father, the current patriarch for the entire Thierot death, refused to see any other option for one of his sons. This was, of course, in complete contradiction with the deal Gabriel had made with his parents at the tender age of fifteen.
In his fifth year, the current Slytherin Quidditch team captain had named him as her successor. For the majority of that term, Gabriel kept this information to himself -- choosing only to share it with his closest friends. The Thierots were not known for the Quidditch prowess and neither of his brothers had ever shown the slightest interest in the game other than what it could do for their gain. So it hardly made sense to take his good news to either of them or any other member in his family. Considering none of them would approach it with the same enthusiasm and excited Gabe himself felt about the game. So it wasn’t until the end of term when the announcement was made that his family became aware of his new position as well as the depth of his love for the wizarding game. The tensions in the Thierot household were high that summer, as Gabriel made his first attempt and fighting against the future planned out for him by his family. By August, to end the mini-feuds before school semester started, his parents had conceded to let him try his own in professional Quidditch after he left school -- but only for a year. If he was not doing well by then, he would give in to his father’s demands and join the family business. Except that, now that the time in which the bargain would begin it’s one year period, Alec Thierot was quite a bit less willing to go along with it.
Gabriel sighed and turned into the one shop he enjoyed above all others in Diagon Alley: Quality Quidditch Supplies. What could he say? He was an athlete at heart, and Quidditch was his game. In the back of his mind, he was quite reasonable with his dream of being a professional Quidditch player. He knew that it was a competitive business, as well as sport, and that not every hotshot who thought he had an ounce of talent actually made it. Thus, there was a dusty little list of occupations he wouldn’t mind taking up sitting therem at the back of his head. Pride had kept him from bringing this list to light for anyone other than himself to muse over but he was far from not having any other aspirations with his life outside of being an athlete. Of course, try telling anyone else that. Gabriel would have been pretty confident in saying that most people were probably of the opinion that he had only three tracks that his mind ran on: Quidditch, girls, and fun. While this was quite true the majority of the time the seventeen-year-old was also very intelligent -- as he was sure would shock some people (particularly his professors) should that little fact come to be known. He was more than the charming, impulsive, average teenage boy he appeared to be. But, alas, he was hardly ever given the chance to prove anyone wrong. Not that he would have taken the chance, should it have arisen, anyway. In a perverse way, he rather liked to be underestimated. Made it that much harder to disappoint.
As he opened the door to the shop, a tiny bell tinkled overhead and a round-faced, chipper-looking wizard looked up from behind the counter of the shop from where he was wrapping a packaged for a middle-aged witch and her young son. “Afternoon, sir!” The wizard called from across the shop. “Be with ya in a jiffy!” Though Gabriel shook his head in response, not bothering to answer since the shop wizard had already turned back to the task at hand. Turning down an aisle close to him, he didn’t worry about the wizard coming after him any time soon. There had been a line that would keep the man busy for the next fifteen minutes at least. At any rate, he would most likely have forgotten all about Gabriel’s entrance before he got a free moment. That, or Gabe would have finished browsing and left. Bored, the boy tinkered with a few items on the shelf nearest to him. They were all pieces to a second hand broom care kit out for display. If he had been paying attention, he most definitely would have shown far more interest in it than he was showing now. Because of the lack of attention, when he went to pick of something that looked like a washer to go between a nut and bolt, his careless fingers dropped the metal piece and it went rolling across the floor. Growling under his breath, he bent over to look for it on the worn down crimson carpeting of the shop.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AN IN-BETWEEN TO ESCAPE THIS DESPERATE SCENE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE EVERY LIE REVEALS THE TRUTH Daryll wandered through the streets of diagon ally. She had left home again because she was sick of it. Hearing her parents talking about how much of a dissapointment she was and how great her brother was. Daryll never was the type to give into her parents wishes but she had a few more weeks there before she could leave again so she did what she could to shut them up she was gonna buy something magical, maybe a broom or something. Keep them off her back for the rest of the holiday then she could sell it or give it to a student in need of a broom. not that she would tell anyone that she would do so. She had a reputation as an unloving person to protect. She had opened herself up once before and gotten hurt, doing it again was not on her to do list. but she had a short temper and she hated her parents any way. so she acted different to who she was because it was expected of her. it was the way people expected a girl like her to be. so she hides behind a mask and keeps herself protected. she nodded at a few of her fellow slytherins as she passed them not in the mood to socialize.
Darylls long red curly hair fell down around her shoulders over her purple and blue shirt dress. Her long legs had fishnet tights pulled over them and a few holes in them and a pair of plain flat doll shoes. She had no make up on and her grey blue eyes were searching the long line of shops looking for one of interest. Well mild interest because magic just didn't interest her like it used to, like it did others. she liked the muggle world, she liked cars. she liked muggle things, they were simpler. well as simple as things could get, nothing was simple any more, hadn't been for years, not for her at least. sighing her long unpainted nails tapped against the windows of the shops as she walked past them. the wind blowing her hair around in a wild untamed pattern, the red contrasting with her pale skin. she looked mildly normal. only mildly though, its about as normal she could look. considering her shirt dress was short and while it hid the top half of her body fine if the wind blew to hard there wouldn't be much left to the imagination. thankfully the wind wasn't that strong.
Daryll came to a stop outside the quidditch shop and let herself smile a little she only had to buy something from here and she would be left alone for the rest of her time at home.pulling at a bit of hair in front of her face she sighed at the black oil marks in her hair, hardly noticable unless you were looking for the stains. taking a deep breath she pushed open the door to the shop and walked into it. she let herself smile lightly when she felt the warmth of the shop hit her. she walked silently across the shop floor and just looked at the displays. she heard the shop keeper talking to another person in the shop but didn't bat an eyelash, she just made her way around the shop and felt the world around her fade away. or it did until she felt a light tap on the side of her foot. looking down she noticed a small thing by her foot and she lifted it up to eye level. she had no idea what it was, well ok she knew what it was but she didn't know or care what it had to do with quidditch or flying. shrugging slightly she looked around to find out where the thing had come from..
she smirked when she spotted the boy looking around the floor for what she guessed was what hit her foot.lifting it up she dangled it between the fingers. "looking for this?" she asked him with a small smile. he was from her house sh knew that much he was captin of the quidditch team, he was good. He was cute too. But the most she had ever said to him in school was in her first year where she mumbled and apology out when she walked into him and managed to send herself flying down the stairs. not her finest moment. but that was about as far as their convosations had gone, other than the few times they had been paired together during class. which wasn't often, she got paired with her brother more than she got paired with any-one else. "So care to explain why my foot got attacked by a peice of runaway metal?" she asked him lightly.

Gabriel was cursing incoherently under his breath when the light voice caught his attention. The tone was familiar and it was with slight trepidation that he straightened back into a standing position. With his usual arrogant gaze, his hazel eyes took in the appearance of the girl. Messy-looking reddish hair, emotionless eyes. Oh, yes, he recognized this girl. At least, by face. Though her name was currently escaping his mind, he knew from his own house and year. Bletchly’s sister, he thought knowingly . The girl had never given him the time of day so it only went that Gabe would return the favor. In fact, now that he thought about it, he could count on one hand how many times he had seen her in the past seven years and actually noticed her. Maybe she was one of those wallflower type of girls who disappeared into the background. That had certainly seemed the case, then. Now, however, with the coy little smile crossing her pert face it was difficult to imagine her as such a person. Looking her over as he was, he was uncertain as to why he’d never noticed her before now. She was attractive enough, he supposed. Though certainly in an unconventional way. Stepping closer to her, he crossed his arms over his chest and let his eyes blatantly run over her body -- trying to see if she was uncomfortable with the attention, testing her mettle so to speak.
“Maybe,” he replied noncommittally. Reaching out, he snatched the piece from between her fingers and held it up -- mockly investigating it. “It seems to be it,” he said shrugging. “Small, insignificant, kind of rusted -- no idea why it would attack anyone. It doesn’t look like it would hold up to a prize fighter in a ring, much less a rubber sole.” He smirked, gave the washer a flip and set back on the shelf behind him. Sticking the tip of his tongue on the inside of his cheek in a kind of smirk, he moved closer to the girl. Gabriel wasn’t stupid, he knew that he was good looking and that most girls tended to find him so. It was highly doubtful, in his mind, that Bletchly would be any different from the others. Propping one arm on the shelf beside him, he leaned casually against it. If anyone had looked up them it would have seemed rather like the predator scoping out it’s prey. In an intriguing, electric sort of way rather than the terrifying way. “So what brings you to a place like this?” He asked finally. “Besides useless bits of metal, I mean.” He nodded back towards the offending piece. “You aren’t a Quidditch girl are you? I mean, no offense, but…” he gave her another once over. “You don’t have the look.”
sorry, i know it sucks but my muse is dead at the moment and i didn't want to keep you waiting >.<

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AN IN-BETWEEN TO ESCAPE THIS DESPERATE SCENE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE EVERY LIE REVEALS THE TRUTH Daryll just looked down at the boy with a light smirk. it was amusing to her to see the captin of the quidditch team on his hands and knees looking for something. "You know im liking this site." she remarked biting at her lip pushing her wild hair back. she was gonna straighten it as soon as possible. she was getting bored of the wildness, but not the length, the chances of daryll cutting her hair was about as likely as daryll agreeing to the follow in her parents footsteps. so she kept the length and changed the style. worked better for her. she looked over at him as he gave her a once over. "trust me sugar, there is no way your gonna get me to fall for that." she said shaking her head. she knew his type, they did this alot. tried to get girls all hot and bothered, test their limits. darylls limit was touching, if they touched her she kicked ass. all was well as long as they left her alone. unless she let them touch her which didn't happen very often.
"Manners." she scolded in mock shock as he yanked the peice of metal out of her hand. she then glared at him. "my shoes arn't all that good the changes of something rusty like that runing them isn't very unlikely. and it even made a mark on my shoe." she said in mock horror. fliping her hair back in fake girliness. she raised an eyebrow when he started moving towards her. her face showing nothing of what she was thinking. daryll bit her lip as she looked at him feeling a bit like a small mouse being stalked by an eagle she didn't like it. "gee thanks and no im not a quidditch girl i need something to keep my parenyts off my back for the rest of the holiday while i work on my car. it shouldn't take much just something magical. any suggestions??" she asked tilting her head.

Gabe raised on straight, dark blond eyebrow as she told him off for looking at her. Well, this was a surprising development. Girls usually just simpered or glared, depending on their opinion of his glance. In all his history of being a self-declared womanizer, no female had ever so blatantly resisted him. Of course he'd been rejected, that was a given in his chosen past time. But it was usually after quite a lengthy cat and mouse game -- and a boyfriend was usually involved. To Gabriel, no girl was worth getting a broken nose and bloody lip over. Just another piece of proof that the boy had never been in love and didn't want to be. Maybe his education in that department was lacking but it wasn't a lesson he felt the least bit inclined to learn at the moment. He was quite content to let the other fools at school try their hand in the trick business that was love -- they all inevitably got hurt in the end.
Sometimes, Gabriel thought he was the only sensible person that saw with stupidity it was to love and let yourself be loved. He'd decided very early on in the game to save himself the trouble and just stick with having his fun. Immediate satisfaction, so to speak, without all the wooing and the gushy stuff. In his opinion, if girls wanted that they could get it from all the other saps in the school. In the world, even. No, if girls came to him it was for the same reasons he went to them. After all, it was a modern world. They weren't ruled by the same social stigmas that they're parents and grandparents had been. Sex was sex and love was love and neither should ever be mixed if you ever wanted a healthy relationship with either. Personally, he thought that latter should just be done away with. It just wasn't possible to have both a sexual relationship and love them. They were two separate things and Gabriel liked sex way too much to give it up for love. No matter how prosaic everyone sounded when they were supposedly "in love" with somebody.
As he looked at this girl, the sister of one of his many friends that somehow he'd never noticed before, he was quite taken aback by her -- not that he let it show. It was mixture of astonishment, amusement, and annoyance that he looked at her now. By all appearances, she seemed quite comfortable in his presence even after all the rigmarole to make her uncomfortable a few moments before. Unmoving, Gabriel whet his lips and considered her. With a slightly lascivious smile, he said, "Trust me, love. You don't want to hear any of my suggestions for you."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AN IN-BETWEEN TO ESCAPE THIS DESPERATE SCENE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE EVERY LIE REVEALS THE TRUTH Daryll watched with a light smile when he raised his eyebrown at her. "not used to rejection?" she asked patronizingly. ok so she was pushing her luck but she just didn't care. she batted here eyelashes at him fakely. "ould you prefer me to fall to my knees and beg you for the chance to go on a date with you?" she asked sounded slightly digusted at the though. she also knew that most men would immediatly think of her on her knees doing something over than beg. normalty wasn't her and she knew that. daryll was beyond pushing her luck now and she was feeling quite naughty. smirking slightly she came up with a plan.
walking foward towards gabriel he tried testing her limits so she was gonna test his. her short petite structure moving towards him before she heard his comment. "I can deal with your suggestions. i have a brother remember? or are you one of those guys who give blondes a bad name." she asked as her fingers touched his dirty brown hair before she pulled away and smirked. she groaned slightly when he got one of her random cravings. "god damn it now i want pizza." she groaned before checking the time on her phone. sighing she turned and grabbed a mini broom that floated and everything but wasn't real. it would do. sighing she put they key ring around her finger and began to spin it,

Well, wasn't this a surprise. I girl who could do more than simper -- other than Avalon, of course. It was certainly interesting to say the least. Of course, what she was saying to him wasn't exactly flattering but it wasn't as if he hadn't heard the same thing before. If not in so many words. Yes, shocking as it must be, Gabriel Thierot had been rejected before. And more than once, at that. He had just never let it bother him. He just got a little smarter at the dating game. Instead of waiting for the chick to turn him down (and usually not in the nicest way), if he felt the slightest bit of disinterest, he quickly disengaged from the situation and let it be. While rejection was not new to him, as much as it was out of the ordinary, his current situation was something he hadn't experienced all that often. A girl who put off as if she'd like to squash him under her boot like a bug but, at the core, seemed just as interesting as the his fawning fan club.
"Only if you want to," he replied nonchalantly, his smirk turning a little bit annoyed. Really, why shouldn't he be? He was used to getting his way in most things. He'd wanted to unsettle this unassailable female and she was not being as compliant as he would have wished. When girls were uncomfortable or nervous they were more apt to drop their guard, if only by accident, and Gabe could get what he wanted from them. Whatever it was. He stood stock still as she reached out and touched his hair, looking carefully messy with a minimal amount of gel, a muscle in his cheek ticking as his irritation grew. She really did have some nerve it was becoming less and less interesting by the second. As she pulled her hand away, he finally moved. Closing the space between them, he leaned towards her, his face only inches from hers.
"I very seriously doubt your brother would have the same suggestions for you as I have in mind," he said, his voice little more than a soft growl. "And, if I were you, I wouldn't make remarks about someone's intelligence based on their hair color. After all, you should know about such stereotypes." He reached out slowly, his eyes following his hand as he gingerly touched a cinnamon curl as it lay against her shoulder. He paused a moment, his eyes flicked to hers and locking with them, before dropping his hand heavily against his side. "You've got to long of a stick up your ass to be like the stereotypical redhead. Shame, that. We could have had some fun." He sneered on the last comment before backing away. He watched as she mumbled something about a pizza and grabbed one of the toy brooms on the shelf to her side.
Laughing cruelly, he said, "I'm sure you'll have fun with that."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AN IN-BETWEEN TO ESCAPE THIS DESPERATE SCENE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE EVERY LIE REVEALS THE TRUTH
Daryll knew she was being annoying to the boy and she was begining to get bored. she never could play these games for long. she had a short attention span and as hot and appealing as this guy was despite her love of a challenge he was too easy. Or at least he is right now. he might be more fun when they got to school more people around, more girls wanting his attention. he was just well he was her brother friend she had seen him enter their house enough on her way out, he had been in the crowed that had witnessed her total humiliation back in fourth year so he had seen her at her weakest and she didn't like that at all. She tilted her head slightly looking at him properly. Yeah he was hot, slightly muscular, good looking and she would admit he had better hair than most slytherins. He was simular to her or at least the act she puts on. Thats the problem they were to simular, and that was bad for her.
her teeth pulled her pale bottom lip between them and she glared slightly when he told her if she wanted to beg she could. "Right because i have nothing better to do than get down on my knees and beg because it might make your over sized ego grow just a little bit more??" she asked with a laugh she was now just bored of him. she she waited for him to make the next move. when he did maybe she could either do something to leave him speechless while she left or she could continue the boring game they were playing, either way despite the bordom she was getting amused. she was more than happy when he stood in shock at her playing with his hair. untill he leaned forward getting his face in hers. her eyes darkening with anger and a little bit of lust. "Your in my personal bubble." she told him absently picking at her nails.
"id hope not because if your suggestions are anything like what i think they are if my brother had the same ones for me i would be deeply distubed." she told him before raising an eye brow "Or are you from one of those imbred wizarding familys?" she asked in mock innocence. "There is nothing wrong with my hair color thank you very much, i have never recevied a stereotype, other than the one time i was aked if i was related to the weasleys." she told him annoyed, sure her hair was an unusual color more light cinnimon than it is ginger though. when she locked eyes with him and felt him play with her curls she bit her lip again only harder managing to draw blood this time. when he let go of her hair she flipped her hair back out of his reach. pulling her wand out and waving it slightly turning the wild mess into soft waves. "I wouldn't sneer at me gabriel. I bite back." she told him before turing back and paying for the key ring thing.
hearing his crul comment she turned to him and smiled. leaning in towards his ear she let her breath out. "Your boring me mr thierot." she whispered to him before pulling away and turning to walk away from him. "And i wouldn't play with you if you were the last man on earth." she told him.

"Hey," he replied, putting up his hands as in surrender. "I'm not one to dictate how you spend your time, but if you want to get down and beg for something that will never happen," he gestured to the floor in front of him, a facetious smirk on his face. "You're more than welcome to be my guest." Gabriel knew he was bordering on being an asshole -- well, more like blatantly traversing it actually it -- but he couldn't help it. It was the way he was programmed, he simply could not walk away when he was annoyed like most other people could. He had to make sure felt his annoyance and reciprocated before he could let it go. Basically, he was of the 'eye for an eye' mindset -- though much less dramatically than the biblical source of that quote. He wasn't that melodramatic -- or violent, as much as his history of getting into fights was concerned. It was only because Gabriel tended to be a jackass most of the time. Oh yes, the boy was quite aware of his faults. It was the combination, however, of him being a general asshole and having too much pride to take shit from anybody. Most attributed it too his pureblood raising -- which would be fairly accurate. Though Gabe was half-convinced that even if he'd been born to muggles, he would have had the same problem.
He rolled his eyes as she flipped her hair back away from his touch. It was a typical girl move -- whether they thought so or not, it looked like they were primping. In Daryll's case, it just made her look like a prissy bitch. Standing there, he tuned her out as she talked -- as he did with anybody he'd written off as a hopeless case for conversation...or other things. This chick was definitely on that last. He suppressed a yawn and checked his watch. It was nearly time for him to be heading home. His parents were hosting some sort of dinner party for their socialite friend. Gabriel suppressed an inner sigh; a long, boring evening was ahead of him with absolutely no one worth talking. It made him tired just thinking about the vacuous event. Needless to say he hadn't been paying any attention to the girl in front of him. At least, until she drew her wand and pointed it directly beneath his nose. Taken aback, it took him a moment to realize she was only doing something with her hair. Another pointless preening movement, in Gabriel's opinion. Relaxing back into his bored stance, he remained unmoved as she predictably thought to turn his earlier move back on him. Gabriel didn't have a personal bubble. If you got in his face and he didn't like it...well, he found ways to let you know.
Like now, for instance. As she breathed her stupid little words in his ears, Gabriel tried not to grab her and push her away. Instead, he clenched his fists, a muscle in his jaw ticking with irritation. Who the hell did this bitch think she was, to act all high and mighty, self-important without cause? And then to reject him as if he'd offered her anything? Yeah, that pissed him off. As she turned away from him, his hand snaked out and gripped her upper arm tightly before turning her roughly to face him. "Listen here, bitch," he snarled, his voice low to keep anyone else in the shop from overhearing. "It's called sarcasm, look it up. That's what dictionaries are for. And, for your information," his face was mere inches from hers. His voice softened as he continued, their faces hovering so close together. To the casual onlooker, it might have seemed as if he were about to kiss her. Anybody who'd been inside Gabriel's mind at that moment, however, would know just how far that subject was from what he was thinking. "I can have any girl I want and, guess what, I don't want you." He released her and stepped back, his voice returning to normal. "So take your bullshit elsewhere."
