[color=got me 10 feet off the ground !! i'm hearing what you say but i just can't make a sound
The Three Broomsticks wasn't a particularly usual hang out for Lucy Weasley but she had found herself here today out of boredom. That was probably something hard to manage in Hogsmeade, but she had never been especially fond of the place. Then again, that was just Lu. She was a bit peculiar that way. However that wasn't so say she disliked Hogsmeade. Only when she was by herself. It was great fun with her siblings and cousins. They could always cook up some sort of trouble, which, of course, Lucy was an eager participant in, but Hogsmeade was just plain old boring when she was by herself. She wasn't good at plotting mischief. She left that to everyone else. She was good at doing what she was told to help make somebody else's plotted mischief, though, and she was game for just about anything. So long as it was unlikely that anyone would get hurt. She hated pain. Even to watch others get hurt simply made her cringe.
The girl drummed her fingertips impatiently on the sadly empty table. "Yeah, you're just dieing for someone else to come fill you up?" Lucy asked the table in a monotone as it responded to her taps with a hollow echo. Lu had a thing about that. When she was by herself and bored, she'd start talking to inanimate objects. It was always a sign that she was extremely, like, ready to kill herself bored, though, so it wasn't a particularly common occurrence. Thank goodness. People would probably think she was insane if she just went around talking to random objects as if they could talk. She could always make them talk....which she had actually been known to do on occasion. Well, only once. And she had gotten in huge trouble for it. But moooooom, there's nothing to DOOOOO! She had to laugh slightly at the memory. She had started a teapot talking, and the thing had been particularly snobby, so she had actually been rather relieved when her father put it back to normal, but still, it had been entertaining while it lasted.
She heaved another dreary sigh, her fingers still drumming the table. Blue gaze traveled to the window, watching all the people walk by, and she shifted in her chair so she could see more easily. She probably looked like some stalker chick, the way her eyes scanned the crowds, but really she was just looking for a friend...Or even someone familiar would have been grand. It was a bit ridiculous that she was here by herself. There were always people at the Three Broomsticks. That wasn't to say there weren't people there, just none of her people, and that made a huge difference. It was really rather sad to be by oneself, Lu thought to herself. Yup, this sucks she answered her own thoughts impatiently.

There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going. The day had long been over for Victoire. Her papers finished and filed with the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, she had the rest of the day to herself. The entire week she had been in England, lounging behind a Ministry desk, writing up reports from Romania and documenting all the new dragon births. It was just a small part of what her job entailed. She knew her mother, for one, was incredibly thankful that her daughter was back home and safe. There was always an inspection that Fleur Weasley tried to disguise in a hug. Victoire knew better, though. Her mother would greet her in the usual graceful air, and while her daughter was trapped beneath her arms, she looked for new burn marks or scars. The older woman's fingers always seemed to trace that damned scar on her jawline, always with a sorrowful look on her face. Like a bad memory she couldn't get rid of. This was what Victoire had to look forward to each time she visited her parents. And there was a reason why she didn't go home all too often.
Earlier she had apparated to her Uncle's joke shop just to say hi. She didn't get to visit her extended family as often as she would have liked, especially her cousins, but that was part of the job. Victoire couldn't even remember the last time her Uncle Charlie had been back home to see his parents. She was more of a family person than Charlie though. They kept her grounded, and kept her head on straight. Otherwise, she'd get too wrapped up in her work, and Victoire being wrapped up in work meant more dangerous endeavors. So, instead of returning to Romania a few days early, she had decided to make the regular rounds of visitations. After popping in on her Uncle George and her cousin Freddie, who was up to no good as usual, Victoire decided to head to the Three Broomsticks for a quick bite and small drink. After all, her next stop would be her own home, and to deal with her overprotective mother, she was going to need a bit of liquid courage.
Pushing open the small wooden door, Victoire gave a friendly wave to the barkeep and kept moving through the thin crowd. Every once in a while, a man would give her a wink or smile broadly at her, but Victoire would politely smile back and keep moving on. Her father liked to say she gained her effect on men from her mother, and he always said it so sourly. Her mother had some Veela in her background, but Victoire had never really expected to gain anything from that small shred she received through the genetic lottery. However, she nearly a carbon copy of her mother, with her delicate and prominent features, and her long blond hair. Unlike her sister, who had adopted the Weasley red hair, yet her brother seemed nearly a perfect mixture of the two. They were all so similar, yet so different at the same time. Sitting down at a small table, Victoire ordered a butterbeer and a bowl of vegetable soup as she parted with her sunglasses and purse. Setting them on the table beside her, Victoire strummed her fingers on the wooden surface beneath her elbows

The girl glanced up as the little bells over the door tingled, catching her attention as they always did. Her eyes lit on her aunt, a grin brightening the redhead's face. She loved her cousin, Victoire. For whatever reason, she always had. She wasn't always sure about her cousins love for her. But it had always been a bit that way with Lucy. She was never entirely sure what her cousins thought of her. For the longest time, she had just been the tag-along, one of the last to go to Hogwarts. Well, not really. Her and Roxanne were the same age, and Hugo and Lily were a year behind her, but still. A lot of the time it felt she was way behind the others, other than those couple that were her age. She wasn't sure why that was. She supposed it was probably of her own imagining, that she was a little out of the loop sometimes, but it had never particularly bothered her. Well, in truth, she had never really thought about it.
Turning her mind back to the present situation, she lifted her arm to wave at Victoire, but her cousin didn't see her. She watched the drop-dead-beautiful young woman make her way to a table and settle herself down in it without noticing her younger cousin. Lu had to smile a bit, trying to figure out how she could possibly missed the girl's carrot red hair. It was a Weasley trait, one that had not passed her by and for which she was, as a matter of fact, quite glad. She loved being associated with her family, loved them all to bits, loved nothing more than to have people take one look at her and say "you're one of the Weasley children, aren't you?" whether they said with with admiration or distaste, she didn't care. It was probably one of her favorite things about herself. She heaved a sigh, thinking to herself I digress as she rose, taking her nearly empty glass with her and making her way through the crowded room toward the table at which Victoire had settled herself. "Hey, mind if I sit?" Lucy asked with a slight smile, tugging the chair away from the table so she had room to slide into it. "So how have you been?" the girl asked curiously. "I haven't seen you in ages." She grinned at the blond beauty who sat across from her.

There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going. It was a pleasant surprise when her cousin suddenly appeared by her table. Victoire instantly perked up, a wide smile spreading across her face. Almost immediately as Lucy sat down, Victoire popped up out of her seat and enveloped her young cousin within her olive toned, slender arms. "Lucy! Oh it is wonderful to see you!" Releasing her cousin, Victoire returned to her seat and leaned forward on the table. It had been ages since she'd seen any of her cousins, or her own siblings for that matter. She suddenly found her mind wandering, wondering what crazy antics her brother, James and Freddie would be up to, and what they might have pulled the others into. Shaking the thought from her mind, Victoire focused back on Lucy.
"You look so grown up!" She exclaimed, looking the girl over. The last time she had seen Lucy, she was nearly an inch or two shorter, and looked so much younger. Certainly not the young woman who was presented in front of her. "I am superb, my dear. Just peachy. But what about you? Starting another year at Hogwarts?" There were so many other questions she wanted to ask, but the basics were the most important, she supposed. With a steady eye on Lucy, Victoire picked up the butterbeer the waitress had just brought over and took a drink. She found herself elated there was some family with her at last. Especially Lucy. Of all her cousins, she seemed to have little time with her.

She grinned at her cousin's ecstatic greeting, wrapping her arms firmly around Victoire, returning the hug with as much enthusiasm. She watched the young woman sit back down at the table, the girl's blue eyes shining. The grin widened, if that were possible, upon hearing Victoire's enthusiastic response. She laughed slightly at the use of the word "peachy." "I'd forgotten you were the one who said that" she said with a grin. "Um, I've been pretty fantastic myself. And yeah. I can't wait for the year to start. It's crazy to think it's only a couple of days. It feels like my summer just started. Time flies when you're having fun, right?" Blue eyes still twinkled merrily as her gaze turned toward a crowd of people coming in, but none of her cousins were among them. She turned back to Victoire.
"What about you? Didn't you just get back from like, Romania, or something? Or no, maybe that was Uncle Charlie." The girl laughed. "I can't even remember anymore." She laughed slightly. It truly was a little bit difficult to keep track of all the comings and goings that went on amongst her cousins. There were simply so many of them. Between all the Weasley children, the second generation had a pretty huge number of people. Lucy loved it, though. She always had. She'd always loved good parties and big crowds. Probably part of why she got along with the cousins so well. Some people might have gotten sick of having so many other people around, but Lu thrived. That was just her, though. She glanced back at her cousin. "Do you miss Hogwarts?" she asked with a slight smile.
