IT'S LIKE CATCHING LIGHTNING , the chances of finding someone like you , ---------------------------------
The sun filtered through the window, casting a small ray of light on a girl in the bed. It was blue bed overflowing with covers, a tuft of brown hair peeking out the top. Inside, the girl was stirring, the morning having awoken her earlier than she would have liked. Daisy Carmichael rose from her slumber, batting the air like a small kitten as she awoke. She wasn't really in the mood for classes today, but seeing as she was the last one in her dorm up, she was probably in her best interest to get up and get down to breakfast before it was all gone. She rubbed her eyes to get rid of the sleep, sitting up in bed. Her kitten, Hermia, padded over to her, miaowing quietly. Daisy laughed, the sound hoarse with sleep, and patted the kitten as it purred. She sat there for a while, playing with Hermia, as she fully awoke. She liked these times when it was just her, on her own, and she wasn't pushed into full-blown contact with the outside world first thing in the morning. She hated that. Daisy Violet in the morning wasn't exactly a pretty sight, as she tended to be cranky when she first woke up, her roommates having learnt that first year.
Daisy flung back the covers, scaring poor Hermia as she miaowed, jumping off the bed. "ooh, i'm sorry, kittycat," she said, stroking Hermia softly. She thought that it was probably better to get ready than go straight down for breakfast. Luckily, the shower was free, so Daisy grabbed some robes and headed for the shower, speeding through it like the speed of light. She was starving, she really was. She attributed that to the early dinner she'd had last night, before Quidditch practise, and by the time she'd got in it was far to late for anything else, and she was too exhausted to try and make her way to the kitchens, as she'd have probably collapsed on some stairway halfway down and been given detention for being out of bed out of hours. Not exactly what she would have needed after a long, hard training session, really. She was out the shower and dressed within minutes, her rumbling stomach only adding to her haste. She pulled her shirt over her head quickly, nearly tearing a hole. She calmed herself down, it was only 8:00am, they would still be serving breakfast for ages. She dried her hair with a simple drying charm, and curled it with her wand. It was shiny and black, but not in a gothic way. It complimented her olive skin perfectly. She quickly gave her face a dusting of make-up. She wasn't the type to wear a lot of make-up, preferring natural beauty; and anyway, her first class was Potions, so it would all melt off in the heat anyway, and Barbie-Doll was not the in look at the moment. A dusting of blush and some mascara and Vaseline on her lips was all she done before she grabbed her silver-and-blue tie and her wand, slinging her book bag over her shoulder, and headed off for breakfast, doing her tie as she went. The Great Hall was packed when Daisy entered, so her entrance went undetected. She smiled as she sat down beside her dormmates, her bag clunking slightly as it hit the wooden bench. She spooned eggs, bacon and sausages onto her plate, munching them down in seconds, her friends teasing her about getting the munchies. She smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, as she gulped down some pumpkin juice gratefully; the food, however good it was, was still hot and the juice helped put out the fire. The bell rang all too quickly and Daisy had just finished her last mouthful of eggs as the plates vanished. She got up with everyone else, and made their way to the dungeons where Potions was held. Potions was a fun class, in Daisy's opinion, as she sat beside possibly the best person in the whole entire world (in Daisy's opinion anyway) Freddie Weasley. There was always something interesting happening with Freddie, and class was never boring. Didn't hurt that he was gorgeous, either, and that he was Daisy's absolute best friend ever, since that fateful day in Potions in first year; who'd thought, seven years later, they'd be sitting together still? She got to Potions late, having had a quick chat with a friend in Hufflepuff, and entered the classroom freezing. Freddie was sitting there in all his glory, getting his stuff out of his bag. "Weasley," she greeted him, sitting down beside him with a thunk. Graceful was a word one would not apply to Daisy. "Geez, it feels like I've hardly seen you this week. Good first couple of days back? Isn't it weird that this is our last year at school? Feels kinda like we'll never leave," she chatted, getting her Advanced Potion Making from her bag, her parchment and quill on the table. The teacher hadn't arrived yet; that was the good thing about first periods, the teachers were always slightly late. TAGGED gageyy aka freddie! TEMPLATE me. He hated early morning classes, he really did. It nearly killed him each time he had to get out of bed before eight o'clock just so he could wolf down some food before sprinting to his first class of the day. Today, however, he had managed the task with perfection. A morning shower, followed by a nice chat with a few of his roommates, then off to breakfast. Of course, he had a nagging suspicion his good mood was carrying through from the past night's events. Last night he had finally attempted the first prank of the year. A small, one, yes, but screams from the Prefect's bathroom more than made up for the absence of a big bang effect. James had helped him, of course, and the pair had spent all evening laughing and drinking butterbeer as they plotted the year's events.
It felt natural, getting back to his old ways. He was slowly coming out of his summertime funk, just in time to impress some of the more influential ladies of the school. Rough housing along the corridors as he made his way to Potions, Freddie took a seat in the middle of the room. It was the perfect positioning really. Not too far back that he was completely oblivious to the rest of the class, and not too far forward that he seemed like a know-it-all smart kid. The middle was a perfect area to be seen and heard His ego would have plenty of feel good moments there. Glancing up as he heard a familiar voice, Freddie grinned and brushed some of his long hair back from his eyes.
"Well hello gorgeous!" Freddie gave her a wink and motioned to the empty seat next to him. It was a simple ritual they'd had since first year. Of course, it had been all but an accident that Freddie was partnered with a Ravenclaw girl his first year, but an accident that had turned pleasant nonetheless. Since that fateful day, Freddie had made at least one friend who wasn't afraid to call him on his idiotic stunts, or to join in with him either. Daisy was a fascinating young woman, really. She always had him running in circles, trying to figure her out. "And what does the lovely Miss Carmichael have to bring to the Potions class today?"

IT'S LIKE CATCHING LIGHTNING , the chances of finding someone like you , ---------------------------------
The early morning classes did Daisy's head in. She really was a late sleeper, and in the summer holidays, she slept into noon or even later if her mother let her. She was the only one in the family like that, the rest were early birds. It was hell usually, when in the summer, her sisters were up and making noise so early that Daisy literally begged her mother to put a silencio charm on her door, to keep out the noise. At Hogwarts it was a little easier, as she could do the charm herself. Also, she had to usually break into the routine of waking up earlier, usually starting well into the summer holidays. Otherwise, she wouldn't be in Potions now, she'd still be sleeping blissfully in her bed. Ahh, what she'd give to be in her bed right now. Anything, she thought.
But being here with Freddie wasn't a bad substitute - maybe even a better one. Freddie, unnatrually, had gotten there first, and had selected a seat in the middle of the class. As usual. Daisy knew his theory on that one - front is for the know-it-alls, back is for the invisible people. The middle was to be seen and to be heard. Daisy was sure this was only going to end up in detention or point reduction, but as she saw Freddie smile and gesture to his empty seat, she didn't really care. It was her last year, and she had a perfect record. What were they going to do, expell her for a few pranks? Daisy made up her mind then and there that she was going to make this last year as fun as she could, in any way possible. And still pass her exams. Well, she was a Ravenclaw, wasn't she? She still had to make time for her studies, but she vowed to make more time for fun instead of always bailing to do her homework or study.
Freddie winked, and Daisy fought to control the blush that was begging to spread over her face. This was Freddie, for God's sake, he was her best friend! She shouldn't be feeling things like this. Shaking her head metaphorically, she sat down next to him, smirking at his comment. "And to yourself, pretty boy," she said, laughing with her tongue between her teeth. The teacher still hadn't arrived, but then Daisy remembered her resolution. She didn't care if the teacher was here or not, right? "Apart from the usual hilarity? Gorgeousness, of course," she said, joking. She didn't regard herself as pretty at all, just a normal plain jane. Yeah, her skin made her stand out, and she could say that was her best feature - she didn't get spots or anything, so it was the only thing she liked about herself. Unlike Freddie, who seemed flawless from head to foot. "And yourself, Freddie? Any pranks up your sleeve? We have to do something in this class this year. I've made it a pact to myself - do at least one prank in every class by the end of the year," she said, smiling. It wasn't typical of a Ravenclaw, but the Sorting Hat did deliberate on putting Daisy in Gryffindor like her youngest sister when she was being sorted. There was a side of Gryffindor in Daisy, and it was people like Freddie who managed to bring it out in her.

Freddie laughed and bobbed his head in a nodding fashion. He was liking the new changes in Daisy. She seemed more relaxed this year than in previous ones. It was interesting the new resolve in her. Whatever she was planning for this year, he was most definitely a fan. In the past, she had always chided him on his prankster encounters. Of course, it hadn't helped that his main targets had been a few Ravenclaws for nearly half of last year. The result, he was sure, made her unpopular among some of her peers for being friends with the little hellboy. It was almost demeaning the way she'd yelled at him once, in the middle of the Great Hall. Freddie knew he had always pushed the limits, hell he lived to toe the line, but the look on her face that one day... A look of being completely fed up with him? That was enough to shake his core. They'd been friends for so long, he hadn't stopped to think about what would happen if he ruined things. For ruining friendships and romantic attachments seemed to be Freddie's best skill. And half the time he didn't even realize he was doing it!
Leaning back in his chair, Freddie propped his feet up on the table in front of them, and pulled his arms behind his head to rest upon his hands. He was fully relaxed as he turned and smiled warmly at his old friends. Over the past year, and well into the summer, he had begun to see Daisy in a completely different light. He no longer saw the brainy little kid he'd been best friends with for so long, but a beautiful and blossoming young woman. Was it odd to think of her this way? Was it his feelings that had been changing for the past year, or was it just hormones doing their usual job in teenage male? Whatever the cause, he had begun to judge every action he made when around her. Should he smile, or just grin? Make her laugh, or engage in meaningful and intellectual conversation? Ravenclaws were known for their brains, right? What the hell did Freddie know about anything remotely brainy? Sure, he was lucky, his O.W.L.s showed that, but actually talking about smart stuff? For now, he just remained as calm and collected as possible and let the conversation lead him.
"Of course I've pulled some pranks," he scoffed sarcastically, a joking tone engulfing his voice as he continued, "I mean, you should have been in the Prefect's bathroom this morning. I've never seen so many half naked students running around the castle before!" He paused momentarily after his initial burst of laughter. There was definitely something odd about talking of half naked students to a girl you currently held a crush on. Now, if it had been limited to half naked girls, that would have been fine, but he was quite certain she had caught the mixed gender meaning. In his head at least, it sounded questionable on himself. Freddie shook off the thought and resumed a smile. It was his award winning, smug smile. Oh so full of himself, yet so cautious when around Daisy. What the hell was the matter with him?
"So a prank in every class, huh?" he switched topics as soon as was possible, trying to divert attention from previous awkwardness. "Well, if you need any tips or pointers, you know who to come to. Be happy to help any way possible."

IT'S LIKE CATCHING LIGHTNING , the chances of finding someone like you , ---------------------------------
Over the summer, Daisy hadn't studied one iota. Shock, gasp, le horror! She had decided to put the books away for the summer and just have fun, unlike summers beforehand, when she'd have notes already made on her new books, organised by chapter and topic, then by subject, before she'd even got onto the train. It was her last year at Hogwarts, and she was going to make it a year to remember. So instead, she'd gotten on her broom and trained (if you could call Daisy and her sister vs. her dad and her other sister training) until sundown, then gone for swims in the lake near to the Carmichael's home in Devon, England. Her parents had been thankful, as they were worried consistantly for Daisy, that she'd get ill from too much studying. So instead of going back to Hogwarts worn out and tired, feeling like she'd never left school at all, she'd gone back refreshed and ready to start having fun. She felt like she'd changed over the summer. She'd lost a little bit of weight, her hair had grown, and she'd toned up a lot from playing Quidditch. She'd also invested in contact lenses, throwing out her glasses - things she regarded as the burden of her life, making her look like a brainaic and being cumbersome when playing Quidditch. It was a shock Freddie, in all his gorgeousness, had even become friends with her, the little geek. Finally, she felt and looked like a young woman, and thought she looked prettier than last year. Still a plain jane, though.
Freddie placed his feet up on the table and looked at her, as if gauging her reaction. Last year, she would have admonished him, telling him that the table isn't his own furniture and he should treat it with respect. This year, Daisy had that thought, before telling herself not to be silly and relax. She smiled, and turned around in her seat to talk to the two Gryffindors behind them, as Freddie of course made the rounds with all his peers. The two Gryffindors began to talk about NEWTS, and Daisy spoke up. "I just wanna leave that until the last minute. I just want to talk about having fun, yeah, not about exams and classes all the time," she said to them, and they smiled. Daisy turned back to Freddie, the one person who wouldn't take about that sort of stuff. The one person she needed right at this very moment in time. She smiled warmly at him, showing off rows of white teeth, before leaning forward on the desk, resting her head on her crossed arms. 'Of course I've pulled some pranks. I mean, you should have been in the Prefect's bathroom this morning. I've never seen so many half naked students running around the castle before!' Freddie let out a loud bark of laughter, and Daisy couldn't help but giggle at the thought of all the prefects running about the castle half-naked, much to their embarrassment, probably, knowing the prefects. "That sounds like a good one. Honestly, you'll have to warn me prior to these events occuring. I need to see how the Master handles his pranks," she said, lifting her hand off her arms so she could reach out one elbow and nudge Freddie, letting him know she believed he was 'The Master'. And, in Daisy's eyes, he was. He seemed to be the reason that she came back to Hogwarts at all, as he was basically nearly all she'd thought about during the summer. "I shall be taking some tips from you," Daisy said, before remembering a crucial details. "Of course, they'll have to fit in around the Quidditch season, of course. I told you I was made Captain, right?" she said, referring to an owl she'd sent to tell him thirty seconds after receieving her letter. He was the first person, apart from her family, she'd told. The joy of being named Captain shone in her face, even now. She was estatic, as Quidditch was a priority this year, along with pranking and making time for friends and fun.
