she will find a way to burn your city down, to wear your spirit out
SHE'LL BREAK YOUR HEART IF IT'S IN HER WAY.

When Elizabeth Ackerly had learned over the summer that she was to be Head Girl come fall, the seventeen year old had been beyond ecstatic. Head Girl had been her dream since she was a first year. The position almost demanded respect, in her opinion, and respect was something Beth craved more than anything. Being Head Girl gave her power, as well, more power than any other student in the school, save the Head Boy. It was something Elizabeth had been born to do, and finding out that she’d attained the position had caused her to celebrate for hours.[LT:The Bigger Lights - Goldmine Valentine]
Upon arriving at Hogwarts, however, Beth had been hit suddenly with how much work went into being Head Girl. She’d taken it all in a stride because, after all, she was a Ravenclaw and she wasn’t a stranger to hard work. But a week into the school year, the girl was very close to the edge with everyone, and she was about to go stir-crazy. Not only did she have to keep all the Prefects in order, she had to cooperate with the Head Boy, she had to do rounds, and on top of all of that, she had to keep up with her schoolwork, which was being piled on due to it being their last year. Needless to say, she felt she was entitled to a break, and she’d planned on taking advantage of the free Tuesday night she had. Beth had managed to finish all of her homework earlier in the afternoon, she had sixth and seventh year prefects doing rounds for the night, and she was very much looking forward to a bubble bath and some sort of alcoholic beverage. Unfortunately, one of the genius Hufflepuff prefects had managed to somehow get sick in the three hours since she’d appointed them to do their rounds, and her counterpart was off doing… something or someone, she wasn’t sure which at the moment.
Which meant, of course, that Elizabeth had to forfeit her fabulous night of calm for one of tireless marching around the large castle, sending misbehaving students to bed and docking house points. Usually, she wouldn’t mind this – she liked seeing fourth years scurry back to their common rooms – but she was extremely upset that her own plans had been compromised and that wasn’t putting her in the best of moods. As she walked down the corridors, her small feet making angry noises against the concrete floor, she twirled her wand in her hand and listened for any sounds of delinquents. So far the only person she’d seen awake was a prefect, doing his own rounds. He’d waved at her as she’d passed him, but she’d only glared. She wasn’t in the mood to be friendly at the moment, and she wasn’t going to pretend she was.
Huffing prettily, the girl smoothed down her clothes and shuffled her ballet flats. She’d changed from her robes into something she found more comfortable – and comforting – a pair of tightly fitting blue jeans and a blood red tank top that was low enough to show a bit of cleavage but not low enough to be scandalous. Beth’s strawberry blonde hair hung down her back and looked immaculate, as always. She was gorgeous, and she knew it, and she wasn’t afraid to use that to her advantage. At the moment, however, she just wanted to go back to her dorm and settle down with a book. It was quiet this Tuesday night, as well, and she was on the verge of just giving up and going back to Ravenclaw tower. Just as she had made up her mind to do so, however, she passed the Ancient Runes classroom. At first, she didn’t even glance at it, until she head mumbling coming from inside. Mumbling, and groaning, and then a gasp. Elizabeth rolled her eyes. Pointing her wand at the door irritably, she muttered a spell and grinned when it opened with a loud “bang”. Smirking, she leaned against the door jam and trained her eyes on the couple inside the room, raising her eyebrows at their rather compromising position. Well, at least they had clothes on.
“Really? It’s Tuesday. You could have at least waited until the weekend. Get the hell out of here and go back to your common rooms; you’re wasting my time. What houses are you in?” The words were lazy enough to make her sound nonchalant, but they still had an edge to them and the other two would know to take her seriously. Sticking her wand in her pocket, she crossed her arms and kept the smirk trained on her face. This was indeed one of the things she enjoyed most about being Head Girl, especially when she was in an bad mood. She had no problem taking out her aggression on innocent souls.
