when you find me in the morningHANGING ON A WARNING oh...the joke is on you! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Students. They were always so impossible, especially when they broke the rules. If it wasn't a constant whining about course work, it was the constant raucous that interrupted valuable classroom time. There were several perpetrators to these crimes, and one of them was sitting before her desk in her office. Piper looked over and glimpsed the feisty young girl. She was angry she was here, Piper could tell that much easily. It wasn't a treat for the young teacher, either. In fact, Piper had another class to ready herself for without having to make this little chat. Sadly, it was the same old story with Crimson. Misbehavior in class led to a private talk which consequentially led to detention time, which was really just a punishment to Piper as well. For a moment, she thought about pulling out her own wand and jinxing the little brat all the way back to the Gryffindor common room, but that was the younger side of Piper that kept trying to push forward. Truthfully, she had more self restraint, and had shown so on more than one occasion.
"It's not that I don't enjoy your antics, Miss Macmillan. Trust me, I do. In my school years I jinxed more than one Slytherin every week if I could help it, but times have changed. There is a level of conduct Hogwarts students are expected to have, not to mention students from Gryffindor house." Piper hated this part, she really did. Discipline was not a normal structure for her. She was a free spirit, built on isolation and as little distraction as possible. The only reason she agreed to take the teaching position at Hogwarts was to ensure her son would be taken care of while she was away. Teaching wasn't exactly the best position for someone who couldn't stand students, even when she was one. With a sigh, Piper took a seat in her dress, her black robes splaying out against the armrests of her chair. Her head leaned against the high back which pressed her long brown locks against her neck and shoulders. She had started out the day with a headache, which seemed to only be getting worse as the day progressed.
"Year after year we end up in this predicament. I've seen your records and spoken with other teachers. Conventional disciplinary methods don't seem to take much affect on you, do they?" There wasn't a response, which really didn't surprise Piper in the least. In a way she felt for the young woman who sat before her. Her acting out was most likely some deeply rooted need for attention from either her parents or friends. A lot of Gryffindors seemed to have this need for attention, though. Unless her eyes were deceiving her, Piper had noticed most of the students that roamed the halls these days had some sort of personality that forced them to ignite their presence within the castle, no matter how disruptive. "Now, you have a class to get to, as do I, so this is how we'll resolve today's problem. Instead of detention, instead of some lofty punishment, you will write me an essay on the modernization methods in Transfiguration. I'll expect it handed in at the start of our next class together. If it is not in, I'll have to resort to a harsher punishment and trust me, with the week I've been having testing my patience is not wise. Understood?" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Scheming On A Thing That's A Mirage I'm Tryin' To Tell You Now It's Sabotage she thought, essays weren’t her favorite, and by the looks of it, a trip to the library was the consequence, if she wanted an extra-curricular activity, this wasn’t the best start. She looked down to her fingernails. As Professor asked her if she understood. She looked up and said, “yes ma’am.” It practically killed her to actually utter those words, it’s been a lengthy five years since she has put those two words into a sentence. Crim was being, good, for once. What a shock. As she shifted out of the seat to skip off to class, and felt somewhat sorry for the professor. Spending day after day, helping students master the art of transfiguration, it must have been a terrible thing to have. Crim began to walk towards the door when she saw something gleam near a bookshelf, was that a chess set? She stopped and tilted her head as she took a few seconds to admire it. The box wasn’t like hers at all. “Professor, is that a wizard chess set?” She asked, pointing her thumb towards the slightly gleaming box. Crimson’s main goal wasn’t to be a kiss ass like a bunch of other people. She just sometimes noticed the few things, that sometimes people had an interest in. Crimson had played a little wizard chess here and there with her friends, but when one was about to win, the other would throw the pieces onto the floor, in which was never the best way handle a loss. Crimson has only played a full game once, with one of her distant uncle’s house elves, the game had only lasted a few minutes, all because Maullie had to finish cleaning the kitchen. The winner of that one was Crimson, but she doesn’t really take the pride of that level of a win. Not saying that the house elf was completely stupid, Crim won fair and square. The thoughts of wizard chess probably won’t get her out of trouble, but it was worth a shot, and if it did work, it would save her a trip to the library. But what’s school without learning a thing or two? It wouldn’t be school if you didn’t, it would be called get in trouble and get some friends. It was funny, how she always had a perspective like that about her classes, knowing that it’s too difficult to not pass a class, and the year barely started, so Crimson might as well give a “good year” a go.
