Below is the list of positions on the wizard newspaper, THE
DAILY PROPHET. In order to become a staff member, you
must fill out the code given below and post it in a reply to
this thread. Anyone who gets on the staff will be expected
to actually participate in writing articles and doing staff meetings,
etc. That being said, whoever becomes the paper's editor are
will be in charge of making sure that the paper is, actually,
running like a newspaper. I know, I know this is an rp and you are
more than welcome to use a position you may have on the paper's
staff in your plots. But please be aware that this is to actually
be used as a source of wizard news, not just for a fancy title in
your profile. This, of course, is going to take some time and
organization beyond regular roleplaying, so if you don't have it
to give then please don't apply for a position. In regards to the
positions, you may only hold one column at time. This means, that
you may be assistant editor as well as the fashion columnist, or the
sports writer and a photographer, etc.

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF ••
the head honcho of this paper, s/he are the last people to
see and article before printing. As such, they have the final
say as to what actually gets printed. You don't want to piss
them off if you want to make it at the PROPHET as a real
journalist.
SENIOR EDITOR ••
This is the second-to-last stop for an article before printing.
After the junior editor is finished with it, they send it up to
the senior editor before it reaches the hands of the editor
in chief.
JUNIOR EDITOR ••
The junior editor is the first stop for an article on it's road
to getting printed. The junior editor's job is to spell/grammar
check the articles and check for any fundamental mistakes
that need to be fixed. If they miss something, then the
senior editor will catch it before an article is put into the
hands of the editor-in-chief.- - - - - -
WORLD NEWS ••
this article contains any developing news happening in the
broad spectrum of the entire wizarding world.
POLITICAL NEWS ••
this article contains the current news happening at home in
Britain, including but not limited to political and governmental
functions, meetings, new laws to be passed, etc.
ARTS AND LEISURE ••
this article contains opinion pieces on the local art communities,
restaurants, plays, etc.
SPORTS ••
this article contains coverage for sporting functions in Britain.
SOCIETY PAGES ••
this article follows the socialites of the wizarding community, as
well as their parties and relationships.
OBITUARIES ••
this column is, obviously, for the recent deaths of members
of Britain's wizarding community.- - - - - -
HEAD OF PUBLIC RELATIONS ••
It is the Head of PR's job to make sure that the PROPHET always
looks good, that they aren't offending anyone too grossly, etc.
The PR Head is usually the face of the newspaper, even over
the editor-in-chief -- this is because they are more in the public
eye than anyone else on staff.
PR ASSISTANT ••
Like every important person, the PR Head has an assistant. The
assistant 'assists' the Head with anything they might have to do
in regards to the paper and relations with the public.
LAW TEAM ••
The PROPHET's law team is made up of three of some of the
Wizarding World's finest lawyers. Like with any media source,
the PROPHET is often the victim of libel suits. As a result, they
have hired a law team to advise and defend them.
PHOTOGRAPHERS ••
The PROPHET photography team is rounded out at five photographers that must be shared amongst the columnists.
TO APPLY AS A WRITER:
[ul]
name: what we call you outside of the rp
character name: what character you are applying for
reasons why: any plot reasons or just a plain ol' "cause I wanted to" will suffice for this. It doesn't have to be in character, though you are welcome to if you wanted.
how active are you?: basically, how much do you log on. You don't have to be uber active but at least be able to log on a post every other day or so or be able to give us notice when you won't be able to.
position(s) applying for: sports, obits, photographer, etc.
sample article: give us a 150 word example on how you would write your article, the kind of spin you would give on it. Remember, this bit is in character as it is in regard to the school and the rp.

TO APPLY FOR OTHER POSITIONS:
[ul]
name: what we call you outside of the rp
character name: what character you are applying for
reasons why: any plot reasons, etc.
how active are you: as mentioned before, you would have to be pretty active to actually be on the newspaper staff. I don't mean log-on-every-day-and-stay-for-hours uber active, but a log on and post every other day or so would be acceptable. [/ul]
