hold your breath til we cross the sundown, THIS IS THE MOMENT, TIME IS RACING, SLOW IT DOWN. Cambria found herself bored. Which was really really depressing, considering she had just arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry not long ago. But she tended to be a bit that way. She seemed to be always bored unless she was causing mischief and she thought it was a bit early for that. She hadn't even started plotting this year's mischief, which she usually did over the summer holidays, but she hadn't had time for plotting this year. Too busy with her family stuff. Oh well. Doubtless she would have plenty of time for that. For now she was willing to just chill out and gloat in the glory of being back. It was better than coming home, for her. Hogwarts was home. Or as good as. She spent all of what, two or three months out of the year here? And had for the last four years. She was working on number five, and she was rather excited about it. Who wouldn't be? To be coming back to Hogwarts...Unless you were mad, perhaps. That was always a distinct possibility, Cambria thought with a wise little nod to herself as she wandered down toward the lake, her hands stuck in the pockets of her jeans.
Pale lips thinned as she started to whistle a jaunty little tune. She paused at the edge of the lake, slim form staring over the waters, waiting for something exciting to happen. Something exciting ought to have happened, she thought with some disappointment, when one considered all the animals that resided within the depths of the lake, it was a little surprising that there wasn't more activity on the surface. But oh no, the top of the water was peaceful. It looked almost like glass, and Cambria wondered for a moment if it might be possible to simply skate across it. Of course, that was ridiculous, and she knew it, but she didn't mind toying with the idea anyway. That was what Cambria did. She toyed with unusual, often times completely absurd, ideas. It was simply part of who she was.
She smiled a little and shook her head in disappointment at the lake's boringness, and wandered over to the shade of a huge tree, leaning herself against it and tipping her head back, enjoying the sunshine that dappled her face through the holes in the leaves. She loved sunshine. It was great. But then, Cambria thought just about everything was great. She was just a happy go lucky sort of person. She loved being happy, more than she loved playing tricks and plotting mischief, even, which was saying something. Then again, who didn't love being happy? Well, lots of people, she supposed. The discontents, who loved being..well, discontent. Duh. And so one would find Cambria on that lovely afternoon, sprawled out beneath a tree, her face tipped up toward the sun, and thinking about malcontent people.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUT I'M IN SO DEEP YOU KNOW I'M SUCH A FOOL FOR YOU --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU'VE GOT ME WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER. DO YOU HAVE TO LET IT LINGER? The grounds looked the same to him each year. Always open and inviting, waiting for a new batch of First years to discover whatever hidden treasures it presented. It was an exciting time, the beginning of school. He liked to watch the hopeful faces of eleven year-olds as they perused the old castle. It was fascinating to see, really. Briggs had once donned a face of excitement and enthusiasm like the younger students. It used to be all about the next lesson, and testing new charms and jinxes on his friends, rough housing out on the lawns without the use of magic. Those things were what boyhood at Hogwarts were made of. Now, at seventeen, his desires were different. Everything this year seemed to be about graduating and finding a job. Or, as his father had drilled into him, being scouted for a professional Quidditch team so he could start right away after school. There was no more time for fun, and joking around with friends. Everything was coming to an end just as the school year started.
Even the seventh year dorms were depressing to him. While his buddies unpacked and lounged about in their black and yellow canopied beds, Briggs felt the restless urge to walk about. He couldn't even stand being in the buzzing commotion of the common room as some of the older years directed first years to their quarters and helped them map out their classrooms. Pushing his way through a throng of second year girls, with their eyes bugging out of their heads as he passed, Briggs nearly sprinted for the great hall and the front doors. The fresh air was refreshing to him, and hit his lungs with a blasting power that nearly swept him off his feet. The summer months at Hogwarts were always so beautiful. Hands in pockets, Briggs made his way towards the glistening black lake.
Her presence was a bit of a surprise to him, really. Briggs would have thought Cambria would be in her room, unpacking or, at the very least, conversing with some of her friends in the rounded Hufflepuff commons. Instead, she was outside, sitting around the lake. He took the opportunity to creep up behind her and sit down on a rather large rock. His fashionably torn jeans blew against his large calves as a gentle breeze blew by. It was one of those days where a gentle breeze was absolutely needed in order to complete the day. Briggs rested his elbows on his knees and leaned forward, parting his lips slightly. "So, a pretty little lass like yerself, sittin' all alone near a lake? What's been goin' round in that pretty little noggin?"

hold your breath til we cross the sundown, THIS IS THE MOMENT, TIME IS RACING, SLOW IT DOWN. Cambria looked up, half expecting to see a butterfly or something fluttering through the sky. It seemed like the perfect sort of day for it, honestly, with a perfect little cool breeze blowing through and lifting her hair off the nape of her neck and making it just the right temperature; not too hot, but not so windy as to give her the chills, either. Cambria was a fan of the little things, including things like weather. It was just terrific! Nothing beat nice summer days. But only the ones that weren't blistering hot. Excessive heat was pretty much suckish.
She hadn't even noticed Brigham come up behind her. She never really understood how such a big guy could move so damn quietly. It seemed the boy almost always snuck up on her. It rather drove her crazy, to be honest. She didn't like being caught off guard, because it put her off balance, and she really hated that. She liked being centered. It was so much easier than being all helter skelter. She turned to look at him, shaking her head slightly.
"So, a pretty little lass like yerself, sittin' all alone near a lake? What's been goin' round in that pretty little noggin?" She rolled her eyes a bit. It cracked her up, really, that he always called her lass. She had to say that she was rather a fan of his Irish accent, too. then again, Came was a fan of most any accent. But still, Brigham had a particularly sexy voice, all deep and then the accent to boot. It was pretty much hotness.
She laughed slightly. "If you really want to no, I was thinking about discontent people and how stupid is. And trying to figure out why they like being discontent" She said with a laugh. Cambria had always been pretty open about what was going through her head at any given moment. It wasn't like she generally had particularly deep thoughts crashing around her skull most of the time, and usually she could even make someone laugh with her thoughts. And she loved making people laugh. And she didn't mind being an open book to begin with. If she was mad, she screamed, and if she was sad, she cried, and if she was happy, she smiled, nonstop. She didn't care if the world knew exactly how she was feeling at any given moment, so it was only fitting that she didn't care if people heard what she was thinking, either. Even if most of the time they probably couldn't understand it anyway.
She glanced over with sharp blue eyes, laughing slightly. "Tired of all the ickle firsties under foot?" she asked with a slight smirk. She remembered the days especially well. Her and Cayden had probably always been under foot. She felt like an old veteran, now. Honestly, she didn't really want to graduate. Her years at Hogwarts had been some of the best in her life, and she didn't want them to end. She felt bad for the seventh years like Brigs, who were getting ready for their last year at Hogwarts. It had to suck some, even if they were looking forward to graduating, right? It was like, a whole new time in life. It didn't sound very fun. Cambria wasn't looking forward to her seventh year, at all. Luckily, she still had another year, after this one, before she even had to think about seventh year.
